Open-E, Inc., führender Entwickler innovativer storage Software für Aufbau und Verwaltung zentralisierter Storage Server, informierte heute über ein neues Fallbeispiel mit seiner JovianDSS storage Software. COMPRION GmbH, weltweit führender Hersteller von Testlösungen für Terminals und Smart Cards, war auf der Suche nach einer neuen Software-defined Storage-Lösung. Die aktuelle IT-Umgebung des Unternehmens verursachte massive Ausfälle und bestand aus ca. 100 virtuellen Maschinen über drei Storage-Pools. Es zeigte sich allerdings, dass Hardware und Software nicht kompatibel waren. Die Folge: ständige Probleme und starker Performance-Abfall.

Über 80 Partner folgten dem Ruf vor die Tore Münchens in den idyllischen Gutsgasthof Stangl in Neufarn bei Anzing. Die Server- und Storage-Solutions von Boston basieren auf den Server-Mainboards von Supermicro, das Storage-Management kommt von Open-E, Speicherlösungen von Western Digital und Saytec, Connectivity unter anderem von LSI und Solaflare. Online USV zeigte energie-effiziente Stromversorgungen und der Vortrag von Joulex befasste sich mit Energiemessung und -Management im Unternehmen.

Am 26. Juni 2013 lud die Boston GmbH zu Ihrem Technologie & Solution Day ein. Dem Aufruf in den Gutshof Stangl in Neufarn/Anzing folgten über 80 Kunden. Vor Ort konnten sich die Partner über das Angebot der Boston und der zwölf beteiligten Partner informieren. Im außergewöhnlichen Ambiente des Gutshofs fanden Produktpräsentationen und Live-Vorführungen von Soft- und Hardware statt. Gezeigt wurden die neueste Liquid Cooled Lösung, die sogar nachträglich in ein Datacenter einbaut werden kann. Weiterhin wurden die Weiterentwicklung der Viridis ARM SoC Server und diverse Storage Solutions mit LSI, Open-e, RedHat oder Saytec vorgestellt. Ebenso vertreten waren Western Digital, Sandisk sowie Online-USV mit ihren energiesparenden Enterprise Produkten.
